Your privacy
Updated 10 October 2026.
- Search freely, straight away. Your search stays anonymous.
- An enquiry goes only to the professional you chose. After 90 days we remove everything that identifies you.
- Even Keel is paid for by professionals' plans; your visit stays your own. What you type is used for your search, and only that.
- Health details stay out of emails. Your note and access needs are read only after signing in.
Who we are
Even Keel is a UK directory of professionals. The data controller is Daniel West, who runs Even Keel. Write to [email protected] about anything here; we reply within one month.
If you search
Your postcode becomes a map point in your browser (using postcodes.io, which sees only the postcode you type). Your access needs stay in your browser and are left out of any link you share.
Counting visits. We count how the directory is used: which pages, which professions, the first half of a postcode (SO30, the district only). Each browser tab gets a random number, which our server scrambles with a key that changes daily and is deleted after two months. It stays anonymous. Switch it off any time: Display → Count my visits.
If you send an enquiry
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name, email, and phone if you give it | So the professional can reply |
| How you'd like to be contacted, and the times that suit you | So they reply the right way |
| Your note and any access needs you write | So they can prepare for you |
| If you ask for someone else: your name and how you know them | So they know who to reply to |
Your consent. Access needs can be health information. Pressing Send is your agreement for us to pass what you wrote to that professional and nobody else. You can ask us to delete it sooner at [email protected].
How long. 90 days, then your name, contact details, note and access needs are removed. What remains is that an enquiry arrived and how fast it was answered, because each professional's reply times are measured from real enquiries.
Afterwards. After an appointment date we may email once to ask whether it went ahead and whether the way in matched what we published. Answering is up to you.
If you save a search
Your email, the first half of the postcode, the distance and what you searched for. Every alert has a Stop them link. Everything goes within 7 days of the alerts ending or stopping.
If you are a professional
- Your listing: name, profession, practice, the contact details you publish, what you treat, prices, languages, and the way in to your building.
- Your registration, checked against the public register. We publish which register; the number stays with us.
- Documents for accreditation: we keep what they showed, who checked them and when, and delete the files (at once when met; 30 days after a refusal; 90 days if never sent for assessment).
- Payments run through Stripe. Stripe holds your card and bank details.
- If you work from home, your address stays private: your listing shows the postcode district only.
- Founding invitations use the business contact details a practice publishes. A limited company may be emailed with a one-press way out; a sole trader or partnership is emailed only after saying yes. Every invitation carries No more emails.
The law we rely on
- Passing your enquiry on: taking steps you asked for, with your explicit consent for any health information.
- Your listing and its bill: our contract with you.
- Checking registrations, measuring reply times, counting visits, inviting practices: our legitimate interest in a directory people can trust. You can object at any time.
Who helps us
| Supplier | For |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Our database and the functions that send email (stored in London) |
| Cloudflare | Serving the website |
| Resend | Sending email (United States) |
| Stripe | Professionals' payments (United States and Ireland) |
| postcodes.io | Turning a postcode into a map point, in your browser |
Each works on our instructions. Your enquiries, listings and everything else in our database are stored in London. Where data leaves the UK, it is protected by the UK's adequacy rules, the UK–US Data Bridge or the UK's standard contract clauses.
Storage in your browser
We keep a few things on your device so the site works the way you set it: light or dark, Easy to read, your last place, your shortlist, and a professional's sign-in. Clearing your browser data removes them. Everything kept on your device is for this site's own working.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, and ask us to correct it, delete it, limit it, move it, or stop using it. Write to [email protected]. If you are unhappy with our answer, the Information Commissioner's Office is at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
How results are ordered
Results are ordered by how well a professional fits what you asked, how close they are, and how recently they confirmed their details. Every plan has the same place in this order. How matching works explains every step. The order describes the fit to your own words, and only that.
Children
Even Keel is for adults. A parent or carer can enquire for a child with I'm asking for someone else.
Changes
When something important changes, we update the date at the top, and tell listed professionals by email.
Even Keel is run by Daniel West.
